We had a full day here in Salt Lake City. First, we got to see and hear this:
This is the pipe organ at the Mormon Tabernacle. There was a 1/2 hour "rehearsal" given by an organist, Richard Evans. Ironically, he is from Maryland. It was so impressive to hear this majestic instrument. Mr. Evans played a John Phillip Sousa song, a piece by Bach, a Morman Hymm, and Amazing Grace. In the evening, we went back to hear the choir practice with a full orchestra - WOW. The first song they practiced was "Over The Rainbow" - fabulous!
In between the two rehearsals, we visited Antelope Island State Park. We are all glad we did. While we still aren't too sure about the Lake itself, it can be said that the island wouldn't be like it is without the lake. And that makes the lake, well, necessary.
No, this is not a new puppy! It is a coyote.
And of course, being on the lookout means hiking to one of the highest points on the island! Yes, up there! Good for a 360 degree view.
and this guy:
On the quest to find wildlife(the coyotes, bison, pronghorn, and mule deer, picture not included, all have free run of the island), we stopped for a few photo op.'s.
And I have decided that it may not be overexposure with my pictures. I think everything is just white washed because of the intense sun! The Salt Lake does provide a pretty picture, if you can stand the smell(yes, it stinks!!).
We hope everyone back home is doing well. And we want to thank everyone who has been leaving comments. We really do enjoy them! It brings us a piece of home, when we are 23 hours and 2035 miles from home. :)
